Stacey Sommer is an award-winning executive producer with over a decade of experience producing series, documentaries, brand campaigns and multi-format projects across a variety of platforms.
Recently, she produced the primetime special “AI and the Future of Us: An Oprah Winfrey Special” for Harpo Productions, which aired on ABC, Hulu and Disney+.
Previously at VICE, she led a team responsible for developing and producing TV shows and non-fiction projects under the VICE News umbrella. She was Supervising Producer for the groundbreaking show "VICE News Tonight" and Executive Producer for the multi-Emmy® winning docuseries "VICE Special Report" on VICE TV, as well several feature documentaries.
Prior to VICE, she was a Supervising Producer at MTV and MTV News where she developed, produced, and directed original franchises and series for digital platforms. While at MTV, she also oversaw branded video campaigns around tent-pole events like the “Video Music Awards”, and worked on linear television specials including "Ask Obama Live: An MTV Interview with the President" as well as MTV's "Restore The Shore" telethon following the devastation of Hurricane Sandy, and several iconic VMAs.
Stacey has been recognized with four News and Documentary Emmy® awards, a Peabody, a GLAAD award, and a National Press Club award, among others.
Her work has taken her across the U.S., to Europe, and Japan. In 2018, Stacey spoke at Harvard Business School’s annual Dynamic Women in Business conference on diversifying behind-the-scenes roles in the media and entertainment industry, a topic she’s passionate about.
